Vedas are the real reference knowledge books. 11 Upanishads (10 major Upanishads + Shethashwatara) and all books which fully comply with Vedas only are acceptable, according to the great Rishi Parampara. As Puranas does not all comply with Vedas, so cannot be accepted. Never refer to any English translation of any Indian scriptures, especially by Westerners, as they are fully biased. Let it be Max Muller, Griffith, Monier Willams, Ruth, etc. They had an agenda to destroy the great culture of India. To get real knowledge, read Veda Bhashya by Maharshi Dayananda Saraswati & his disciples (in Kerala) like Pandit Vedabandhu, (Acharya) Narendra Bhooshan and their disciples.
